Digital media bigwigs to converge on Sydney

Some of the biggest names in new media from around the world are to come together in Sydney next month.

The Media 09 event, which bills itself as a forecasting summit, takes place on February 13. Among the speakers represented are Washingtonpost.com, Newsweek Interactive, the BBC, The Guardian, Google, The Hyperfactory, WidgetBox, Norwest Venture Partners and The One Club.

The event will also see a keynote address by Fairfax’s new CEO Brian McCarthy, in one of his first public engagements since taking charge of the company.

Speakers include Caroline Little, who helped lead the building of washingtonpost.newsweek interactive; Nic Newman, Future Media Controller – Journalism at the BBC;  Amin Zoufonoun, principal in corporate development, at Google’s Californian HQ; and Meg Pickard, head of communities and user experience, at The Guardian in the UK.

The event is organised by X|Media|Lab.
