DR MUMBO’S DIARY: Daily Telegraph’s spectacular TV cock-up

Those Sydneysiders planning to avoid the festival crowds and stay in tonight may want to look for an option other than The Daily Telegraph if they want a helping hand through the TV schedules. It looks like they’re printed the shows from a Monday night some time last year.  

telegraph-tv-blunderAccording to the Tele, Big Brother (which you may recall was axed after its last series) is at the heart of tonight’s schedule for Ten, with showings at 7pm and 10pm, wrapped around the premiere of How To Look Good Naked. Meanwhile, fans of Media Watch will be glad to see that that’s on the ABC, along, apparently, with an unexpected return for More Than Enough Rope from Andrew Denton.

Over on Seven, the Telegraph promises us Desperate Housewives followed by Boston Legal, apparently. And Nine’s got Sea Patrol and CSI.

Fair to say that when viewers find out what’s really on – Mary Poppins, Funniest Home Videos and (shudder) 40 Smokin’ On-Set Hookups – they may be a tad disappointed.

Life is similarly confusing in the pay TV section. Apparently every channel is showing The Simpsons tonight.

Still, looking on the bright side, at least they haven’t made the same mistake for Sunday too. Oh, they have…
