Dune: Part Two is dominating March box office takings

Dune: Part Two was responsible for close to half of this past weekend’s box office takings across Australia.

The sequel sold another 253,000 tickets in its second weekend to bring its Aussie box office total to 735,000 ticket sales and $17.7 million to date after.

Imaginary and The Great Escaper both sold 31,000 tickets over the weekend, with Chinese comedy Yolo launching this weekend with 26,000 ticket sales, and a total take of $486,000.

The Bob Marley biopic One Love sold 21,000 tickets in its fourth weekend.

Across all film, 531,000 tickets were sold over the weekend. According to Val Morgan, 61% of weekend admissions were in the 25-54 age bracket, with 57% between 14 and 39.
