DWA appoints Adam Powell

Media planning and buying agency DWA has appointed Adam Powell to the role of client services and strategy director.

The announcement:

DWA is proud to announce the appointment of Adam Powell as Director of Client Services and Strategy based in the Sydney office. Reporting to APAC Managing Director John Massey, Adam will be responsible for growing existing accounts and devising new business streams, and brings with him 12 years of media experience that includes stints at major publishers and agencies in Australia and London.

“Our growth in Australia has been meteoric and we have to consolidate all the hard work that the team has put in over the past four years,” says John Massey. “With his publisher and agency background, Adam is ideally suited to look at our market position and devise a roadmap for us to go forward from here.”

Originally from the UK, Adam has spent the last seven years in Sydney at agencies such as GPY&R and OMD managing large tech clients including ISPs across both traditional and digital media. Most recently he was head of the client strategy team at Fairfax digital, where he specialized in vertical category digital strategy in addition to video and online behavioural advertising.

“Clearly the Australia market alone offers us the opportunity to grow the business and expand the team, but new offices overseas are already demanding our attention and Sydney is fast becoming a regional hub,” says John. “New Zealand, Hong Kong and India are in the offing and a senior player who can apply our learnings from Australia to fast start these new businesses is a valuable addition to our team.”
