eBay to review media agency arrangements

Online e-commerce giant eBay is reviewing its media planning and buying arrangements on a global level.

A spokesperson told Mumbrella that consolidating eBay’s media agency partners would allow the brand to streamline its marketing approach around the world.

eBay is seeking a more streamlined marketing approach

“With eBay’s new markets organisation, regional teams are working together more closely than ever. Consolidating our roster of media agency partners will allow us to streamline our marketing approach around the world, helping eBay clearly communicate our value proposition for consumers. We have strong partnerships with our current agency partners, and we’re evolving these relationships to serve the brand globally,” the spokesperson said.

The brand was unable to comment on the local implications.

Globally, eBay has worked with WPP’s Mediacom and Publicis Media.

Locally, the brand appointed Amex’s Julie Nestor as CMO in March last year.

According to Ad Week, eBay spent approximately US$250m on paid media last year.
