Enigma appoints Jenna Russell as executive strategy director

Enigma has strengthened its strategic offering with the appointment of Jenna Russell as executive strategy director.

The announcement:

Independent creative and media agency Enigma has announced the appointment of Jenna Russell as executive strategy director, further bolstering the agency’s strategic capabilities and its mission to combine creativity, data and media to help brands connect with Australians in unignorable ways.

Originally from Newcastle, NSW, Russell returns home after spending the past 18 years in London as a creative and strategist. She joins Enigma’s Sydney office from London B Corp creative agency Elvis, where she spent more than five years, most recently as strategic group head. During her tenure, she led global brand strategy for Mondelez (Cadbury, Oreo, Philadelphia), Kimberly-Clark (Huggies), Greenpeace, and WaterAid, delivering campaigns that built purpose, cultural resonance and measurable business growth.

With a career spanning brand and creative strategy roles at Fall Off The Wall and Fox International Channels, Russell brings a depth of experience in creating work that blends cultural insight with commercial impact, perfectly aligning with Enigma’s mission to make brands absolutely unignorable.

“Jenna’s a rare hybrid planner with a POV on culture, style, taste and creativity that you feel in every conversation,” said Dom Hickey, chief strategy officer at Enigma. “She’s whip-smart and exactly the right fit as we grow the multi-discipline strategic offering for our clients. Jenna brings a wealth of experience and we’re incredibly excited to have her onboard.”

Commenting on her new role, Russell said: “There’s a real sense of energy at Enigma and the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders like Dom Hickey and Simon Lee is incredibly exciting. From the first meeting it was clear the ambition to deliver world-class creative work is brought to life by the energy and momentum the team are building together. I’m looking forward to bolstering the agency’s strategic offering and helping deliver work that truly connects with and moves real people.”

Founded in Newcastle more than 30 years ago, Enigma has grown into one of Australia’s largest independent creative and media agencies, with a team of over 80 specialists across Sydney and Newcastle. The agency partners with brands helping them create work that real Australians can’t ignore.
