Ergon Energy to split communications duties

Queensland-based energy supplier Ergon Energy, which has been undergoing an advertising, direct marketing and digital review since May, is tipped to have awarded its DM business to incumbent Decoder.

Appointing Decoder will mean that the advertiser will look to appoint multiple agencies rather than a single supplier, an option that had been mooted.

Junior and Redsuit are the last two agencies in the running for the advertising account – Redsuit currently handles the business.

Media buying, which is handled by MediaCom and Blaze,  is not part of the review.

Ergon’s Andrew Roberts brand and corporate marketing manager was unavailable for comment.

A decision on the review is imminent.
