Esan Tabrizi promoted to lead Deloitte Digital, Steve Hallam promoted

Deloitte Digital has announced the promotion of Esan Tabrizi to the role of head of Deloitte Digital Australia.

Tabrizi will led the agency, which has creative, technology and marketing capabilities, after ten years within the business across several different leadership roles, most recently as lead partner – marketing, commerce and digital experience practice.

He takes on the role from outgoing head of Deloitte Digital, Steve Hallam, who was recently promoted to lead Deloitte Consulting’s enterprise technology and performance practice.

Tabrizi said: “It’s a massive honour to be taking over the leadership of Australia’s leading digital consultancy. We have an amazing team that is at the forefront of shaping outcomes for our clients and their industries – from financial services and the public sector, to wealth and retail.

“I’m looking forward to building on really strong foundations to continue our market leading position and making an impact that matters.”

Deloitte Digital said that under Hallam’s leadership, the company has grown “from a business of 400 people to a market leading team of more than 700”, with Hallam’s focusing turning to taking the trend of digital transformation further into the core of an organisation, “to help make industries more innovative, sustainable and productive with the intelligent use of technology”.

Taking over the business, Tabrizi’s central focus will be to accelerate Deloitte Digital’s solutions in addressing “clients’ biggest digital and marketing challenges via a strong focus on innovation and creativity in a post-COVID, digitally accelerated world”.

Following the announcement Hallam said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to lead the Deloitte Digital team for the past four-and-a-half years, and to have been part of the firm’s digital growth story for the past 17 years.

“It has been a true honour to work with so many amazing clients and people, and helping our clients succeed in their digital ambitions.

On his successor, he said: “I’m really excited for Esan, his new leadership group, and a fantastic team, who are going to shape the next wave of growth in digital and marketing innovation in Australia.”

At the end of June, Deloitte Digital appointed Emad Tahtouh into the newly created role of head of creative technology, where he will work alongside Deloitte Digital’s CCO, Matt Lawson and head of assets, Brad Milliken to “develop innovative and ownable products, services, and experiences” for Australian and APAC clients.

In 2021, Deloitte Digital also says it is also focussed on “embedding creative thinking into every aspect of its business and client offerings, and driving a world-first, world class agenda through its ‘Hello New’ brand positioning”.

Deliotte Digital Melbourne were recent recipients of a Bronze Lion at the 2021 Cannes Lions Awards, for its Belong Carbon Thumbprint campaign.

Deloitte Digital were approached regarding Tabrizi’s replacement, but had no response at the time of publishing.
