An Australian production company has partnered with a north American counter-part that covers both USA and Canada.
The pairing of Sydney-based Essential Media and Entertainment with LA and Toronto-based 11 Television aims to widen the footprint across a large portion of the English speaking television landscape.
The new company will become Essential 11 Media Group and be headed up by CEO Chris Hilton, CEO and founding partner of Essential Media and Entertainment.
Hilton said: “There are great synergies to be had in developing hit formats across the group with simultaneous access to broadcasters in three English speaking territories. This is why we’ve invested in this partnership with 11 Television, which is helmed by industry leaders and veteran executive producers Kevin Healey and Jesse Fawcett.”
Healey is chief creative officer and EP of 11 Television with Fawcett chief operating officer and EP.
Essential Media and Entertainment has Rake 2, Gourmet Farmer and the forthcoming Guy Pearce mini-series Jack Irish on its slate while North American series include: Propos’d which sees grooms creating elaborate prank-like proposals; Destination Fear in which fans of the paranormal experience frightening destinations; and Risky Business, an investment competition show.
