Ebay, in partnership with M&C Saatchi, created a series of six spots designed to showcase the many different needs and wants of Australian shoppers and how all can be satisfied after buying Christmas presents from Ebay.

The campaign features 30-second launch film ‘Join The Gift’d’ and five 15-second ‘Character Gift’d Films’, each featuring a customer with different buying or receiving gift personality: ‘Join The Don of Deep and Meaningful’, ‘Join The Lorde of Latest and Greatest’, ‘Join The Master of More for Less’, ‘Join The Princess of Perfect Gifts’ and ‘Join The Sultan of Summer Christmas’.

Amber Morris, head of communications at Ebay, told Mumbrella: “We are really excited about the Christmas campaign as it sets out to position Ebay as the smarter place for people to buy gifts this Christmas without taking ourselves too seriously”.

With Australians increasingly using mobile devices to do their retail and gift shopping, the campaign focuses on a mobile-first strategy catering specifically for shopping on-the-go.

“A whopping 60% of all our traffic comes through on a mobile device,” Morris said.

Steve Brennen CMO, senior director of advertising, sales and retail innovation at Ebay, said: “We all have that friend or family member with the special ability to nail Christmas gifting. This campaign celebrates Australia,;everyone can find their perfect gift for someone special at this important time of year”.

Andy DiLallo chief creative officer at M&C Saatchi, said: “Gift’d is culturally relevant to every Australian wanting to purchase the perfect present”.

The campaign will roll-out through Youtube, catch-up TV, radio, music streaming services and social media.
