Ex-Premier Daniel Andrews’ staff open strategic advisory firm

Several senior staff that previously worked for former Premier Daniel Andrews have opened a strategic advisory firm for major companies – Foster McCrone Ratcliff & Sims (FMRS Advisory).

The announcement:

Senior executive staff from former Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ office have launched a new strategic advisory firm, Foster McCrone Ratcliff & Sims (FMRS Advisory), aimed at helping major Australian companies and other organisations navigate strategy and communications with precision and expertise.

FMRS Advisory includes former chief of staff Lissie Ratcliff, former deputy chief of staff Jessie McCrone, former director of strategy Ben Foster, and former director of media Adam Sims.

Each will be managing partners. Clients can expect that when they engage FMRS Advisory, they will deal directly with the partners.

The new firm, which has a 50-50 gender split, will provide a range of services including advice on strategy, planning and execution, reputation and crisis management, strategic communications and digital campaigns, and business transformation.

The group has over 50 years’ experience advising federal and state governments and business, with Adam Sims moving to the new venture from industry super fund-owned funds manager IFM Investors, where he is director of global corporate communications.

The partners have helped win three Victorian elections with an increased majority each time, worked on political campaigns around Australia, supported the delivery of nine budgets, and provided advice at the highest levels.

FMRS Advisory offers unrivalled expertise gained through the partners’ extensive experience in senior roles during the pandemic, complex policy and regulatory challenges, natural disasters, cyber attacks, major M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, leadership transition, and major project implementation.

FMRS Advisory will not lobby governments on behalf of its clients. Foster McCrone Ratcliff & Sims Advisory will officially open its doors on Tuesday 2 April 2024.

Quotes attributable to FMRS Advisory managing partner Lissie Ratcliff:

“We think the timing is right for a firm like ours. Organisations need to maintain social license from their customers, shareholders, governments and the broader public, and the right advice at the right time can be the difference between success and failure.”

“Our clients can expect us to give it to them straight – we will work directly with them and provide the strategies and the tools they need to get the results they want.”
