Exclusive: First look at The Cup
Days before the race that stops a nation, Encore has exclusive images from the shoot of Simon Wincer’s The Cup.
Wincer shot most of the film in Victoria earlier this year, but will shoot the climatic Melbourne Cup race scenes after the real one takes place next week.
The Cup tells the story of Damien Oliver (played by Stephen Curry), winner of the 2002 Melbourne Cup with the horse Media Puzzle and the support of Irish trainer Dermot Weld (Brendan Gleeson).
It will be released by Roadshow next Easter.
