Facebook launches search offering
Facebook has launched its biggest challenge yet to Google’s dominance of search with the announcement of Graph Search.
Facebook is presenting the service as being intended primarily to help people find information based on what those they are connected to on the site have shared. It has announced Bing, rather than Google, as its primary search partner.
The move will signal dramatic upheavals for search specialists as they come to grips with the new play.
The social network has released information targeting businesses and advertisers aimed at persuading them to create pages to improve their chances of being found in Graph Search.
Facebook is also promoting the search engine as being privacy friendly.
Hmmmm. It’s like some kind of “social search”….

I’ve noticed an FB bot crawling one of my sites a few thousand times a day for the last week or so.
Unfortunately it keeps hitting non existent pages.
Judging by their progress so far, it’s going to be a race to the bottom.
