Rebecca Carrasco departs creative director role at Facebook
Just 12 months after stepping into the role as creative director of Facebook’s in-house agency Creative Shop, Rebecca Carrasco has left the business.
Facebook confirmed her departure this week but has not revealed any plans for a successor.
Carrasco joined the social media giant to head its creative offering in November last year after successful stint as creative director of Clemenger BBDO in Sydney.
The move by the social media company to name a top-shelf creative director to the company was seen as a big step to helping agencies and advertisers make more of the medium by better understanding their needs.
Carrasco was joined at Facebook by former Colenso BBDO executive creative director, Andy Blood, who was named as creative strategist for Facebook and Instagram in July, giving the agency a string strategic pedigree.
Facebook declined to comment further on the departure.
In January, Facebook appointed former Crispin Porter +Bogusky star Andrew Keller as global creative director, with Keller pledging to find ways for advertisers to use brands as a compelling brand platform.
