Faceless Men are at it again, says Liberal ad as Rudd returns
The Liberal Party has pounced on tonight’s spill with an online ad featuring clips of senior Labor figures criticising their new leader Kevin Rudd.
The footage was mainly gathered during the previous spill when Rudd supporters sought to return him to the top job.
Rudd tonight deposed Julia Gillard as Labor leader, bringing him back to the role of Australia’s Prime Minister.
With this idiot back and if Queensland win the State of Origin tonight, this could possibly be the worst day ever….

Hmmmm…..using dodgy politicians that nobody likes in your attack ad
I can see many in the electorate saying “well if these bloody hopeless Labor pollies hate him he must be alright”

Good points in the ad, but the production was just terrible

@ Steve… “pollies nobody likes” – Garrett, Roxon, Pliberserk, Burke (arguably the nicest guy in Parliament.)! Somebody must have liked them to vote them in in the first place. Rudd’s an ego driven megalomanic who (like a lot of great leaders, I guess) has managed to mesmerise a large and dumb proportion of the electorate.

One of the worst ads I’ve ever seen.
Looks like the Liberal minions had this in their bank as well, springing it up just as Rudd was re-elected. Predictable.

I think you may have made a mistake – I am pretty sure the Labor Party made this ad.

A bit of free advice for them … don’t use Latham and Richo. People don’t like them and they are not relevant to the current dynamic.
Second bit of advice … the attack is too easily negated. I can write Rudd’s script for him … it goes a little like this … I have made mistakes in my past, I have pondered on these … I am a changed man …
Boom, the attack is limp.
So, how to get around that is simple … pre-empt the negation … here’s a fee line “Mr Rudd might tell you he has changed but we all know that a leopard can’ change its spot … don’t trust him when he has said he’s changed … yadda yadda
Frankly, the people that advise pollies on communication in Canberra are not good … they need some old fashioned marketing and advertising folks … after all, a modern day pollie is just a mobile ambient platform 🙂

I’d say being disliked by other politicians is something that should be played as a strength.
If I were the Rudd camp I’d be embracing these ads. Yep, other politicians hate me. Because I don’t play their games. I get stuff done and I’m not sorry if I have upset other politicians along the way. The Australian people are the one’s I turn to to see whether I’m on the right track…
Yadda yadda yadda.

I had to laugh when I saw the Liberal Party ad. It was so old fashioned it looked like it came out of a draw in a second hand kitchen cupboard. Not a policy in sight, unless negativity is now a policy.

Would be nice to see the Libs make an ad that promotes one of their policies. Does anyone really listen to this type of communication? I’d prefer to see an ad that outlines how they’ll tackle rising costs of living. It’s very predictable stuff.

Stop wasting tax payers money to create ridicules ads and get on with it. Australian people needs to see positive changes that will directly impact them.
Creating these stupid ads is not contributing any positive impacts to Australians

Boris, Rudd may very well be “an ego driven megalomanic (sic) who…has managed to mesmerise a large and dumb proportion of the electorate”, but compared to Tony Abbott he begins to look more like a Mother Teresa figure.

Pssst … Pete. The taxpayer doesn’t pay for party political ads. Apart from that I can’t fault your logic.
