Farmer Wants A Wife says goodbye with a win as Today hits the road to try to win back Melbourne

Nine’s The Farmer Wants A Wife series final took the network to a win for Wednesday night while The Gruen Transfer helped ABC1 beat Ten into fourth place.

The Farmer Wants A Wife rated top for the night with 1.45m capital city viewers, according to overnight ratings from OzTam.

It was just ahead of Gruen’s 1.407m. Last night’s episode saw ad agencies challenged to sell polygamy. Bulldozer’s offering (top) was beaten by Fenton Stephens.

Meanwhile, Seven’s Sunrise delivered another big gap on Nine rival Today with 423,000 viewers to 300,000.

Today has announced it is to go on the road next week, with next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday’s show coming from Melbourne. Until recently, Melbourne was Today’s heartland, but yesterday Melbourne delivered just 73,000 viewers to Sunrise’s 123,000.
