The Fate of the Furious continues weekend box office domination, Going in Style comes in fourth

Roadshow’s Going in Style starring Morgan Freeman debuted ahead of the long weekend on Thursday April 20, but couldn’t compete with the ongoing weekend box office dominance of blockbusters The Fate of the Furious, Beauty and the Beast, and The Boss Bat=by.

Going in Style  finished in fourth place earning $1.264m across 235 screens, according to weekend box office figures from the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.

Managing to maintain the top spot, The Fate of the Furious earned $4.961m across 580 screens.

The action comedy featuring Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel ran for its second week, taking its total earnings to date to $22.258m.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast held its second-place position earning $2.137m over the weekend, taking its total to $44.486m.

The Boss Baby also remained steady in third place adding $1.626m to its total earnings to date, which is now at $19.432m.

The Lego Batman Movie dropped one spot to fifth place as it earned $926,000 across 293 screens this weekend. Its total has now reached $10.196m.

Smurfs: The Lost Village also dropped one spot falling to sixth place from last week’s fifth, grabbing $788,747 over the weekend. Its total box office earnings is now at $5.64m.
