Father has ‘the talk’ with his son to promote responsible sports gambling

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation has launched a new ad campaign where a father has ‘the talk’ with his son to explain how sport and gambling don’t have to go together.

Created by Shannons, the ‘Had ‘the talk’ yet?’ television campaign begins by showing a mother pushing her husband into their son’s room to have ‘the talk’ with him, because as its “your job”.

“Mate just because everybody seems like they’re doing ‘it’, doesn’t actually mean that they are ‘doing it’,” the father says.

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation has also created the slogan “betting and sport don’t have to go together”.

Alongside the television commercial, which aired last Sunday, the foundation’s Facebook page also encourages parents to talk to their children and tell them the facts about gambling, explain the risks and have the talk.
