Flinders University names new chief marketing officer
Flinders University has named University of Adelaide’s Bev Bury as its new chief marketing officer.
Bury, who will take on the role on 15 May, was most recently director of marketing operations at Uni Adelaide, where she focused on people, processes and technology powering the university’s overall marketing and recruitment strategy.
“A passionate marketer with an inherent understanding of the importance of customer experience in optimising student loads at every point of the decision-making process, Bev has a strong track record in driving award-winning brand initiatives and platforms,” a statement from the university read.
Prior to her career in higher education, Bury had been working in various senior marketing roles across tourism bodies in Australia. She was most recently the general manager of marketing and creative services at the South Australian Tourism Commission from 2017 to 2022, and moved up the ranks at Tourism NT from 2010 to 2017.
Bury also worked at UK-based advertising firms Iris Worldwide from 2007 to 2009 and Mediaforce from 2002 to 2006.
This article is factually incorrect. Bev didn’t join Flinders last year and get a promotion. She was the Director of Marketing Operations at Adelaide Uni – commencing in August 2022 and is moving over to Flinders on May 15th.
I would also be intrigued to see where you pulled the University quote came from, as there is nothing of the same nature on Flinders’ website.

Hi Mel, Thanks for the heads up – we have updated the story to reflect that. The quote in question was taken from a Flinders Uni press release, I hope that clears things up.
Cheers,
Nico
