Fnuky goes back to Victorian era for Sex Party election ad
Adelaide agency Fnuky is behind a campaign ad for the Victoria election from The Australian Sex Party.
The ad is a spoof film trailer for a period drama, titled The Victorian Election, which is dubs “the most conservative election in history”. It features actors playing Labour’s John Brumby and the Liberals’ Ted Baillieu. It was directed by Fnuky’s creative director David Campbell and filmed at Carrick Hill in South Australia.
Campbell said: “We wanted to convey that Victorian politics is becoming more conservative and the movie trailer is a fun and powerful way to portray this.”
The campaign has also obtained the url victorianelection.com.au for its election website.
Sex Party = Political Party of a Commercial Lobby Group.

That is partially true. We are a political party formed by a lobby group that fights for basic civil liberties and human rights. These include the right to legal sell and posses non violent erotic materials but also abortion, euthanasia, internet censorship and freedom from religion in politics. The Labor Party is associated with and funded by unions, the Liberal Party is funded by a variety of Australian businesses with political agendas, The Christian Democrats, Family First and the DLP all represent and could be said to be lobby groups of various churches. Every party has an agenda and quite often a commercial backer, at least we are honest about ours. I wish the adult industry funded us as much as you think they do!

Tim – The Australian Sex Party was founded by people involved with the Eros Association, a lobbying group that has a long tradition of fighting for civil liberties on behalf of small business owners, particularly in the area of censorship. I fail to see how this is a bad thing. ALL political parties have roots in, and garner support from, groups with political interests. From Labor’s union backing to the variety of activist groups which went into forming the Greens, to the Liberals’ long-standing support from segments of the business community, to the religious groups behind parties like the DLP and Family First, there is nothing about the background of the ASP which is out of step with other parties in Australia. If anything, we’ve been much more open and forthcoming about our roots, background and support base than many other political parties in Australia.

I heart Australian Sex Party. The only party that actually represents real Australians, rather than being so afraid it hides in the corner with all the conservatives.

After their laughable performance at Federal Level, when all the hype was exposed for what it was, I would’ve thought they’d spend more time on actual policies rather than acting like smart-alecs.
Conservative is not a dirty word, folks. Tempered progressiveness is fine, but the Sex Party seem to think that it should go unchecked and with little thought of consequences. One thing they will have to, absolutely have to, accept is that religion is part of the foundation of the country. And religious institutions are so entwined in the political machine that to remove them would bring about absolute chaos.

I think the message well and truly hits home. There’s nothing wrong with an alternative view and I think the ASP is giving us something worthwhile to think about. “Conservative” may not be a dirty word but if it was the major parties would censor it in an instant. I’ll be watching with interest.

Shane..
Performance at a Federal Level…. best performance for a new party in Australia?
I think you will find that Conservatism in politics is considered to be a bad thing by most people, it is a term that people use in order to push their small minded views without being called bigots, racists or sexists.
Religion is not in any way part of the foundation of the country, but sadly religious institutions whilst representing only a small percentage of the views of Australians, are heavily entwined in the political machine. Removing them would bring a fairer and more balanced Australia.
Should religion be removed from politics, then you are correct it would create chaos for those bigots, racists and sexists who would no longer be able to abuse the political system to force their small minded agenda on the rest of the country.

Thanks for that InTouch, and I won’t get into a political debate here because (like the rest of the silent majority) I will let the election result speak for itself. However, I would recommend you do a little light reading into the history of Australia if you’re claiming that religion has nothing to do with the foundation of the country.I think you will find that (if you’re able to view events objectively) even a cursory glance will dispell your misconceptions.
Cheers
