Focus bumps The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel from top spot at the box office

Will Smith’s Focus has bumped The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel from the top spot in the weekend box office as only three films made more than $1m in ticket sales.

Focus, which also stars former Neighbours star Margot Robbie, pulled in $1.746m across 275 screens in its second weekend to take its total Australian box office takings to $5.405m.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel claimed second place after taking $1.621m across 392 screens. Chappie grabbed third place with sales of $1.359m in its opening weekend.

There was a sharp drop to Kingsman: The Secret Service in fourth place which generated $731,684 across 208 screens.

Fifty Shades of Grey claimed fifth place after pulling in $509,042 to take its total to $23.014m.

Cinema goers spent $205,435 watching Carl Barron’s Manny Lewis which showed on 140 screens in its opening weekend to grab 9th place.
