Ford V Ferrari and Last Christmas hold firm at the top of the Australian box office

Ford V Ferrari and Last Christmas have remained untouchable at the top of the Australian box office. The drama about Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca’s efforts to beat the Ferrari racing team in 1966 maintained its hold of the top position, taking $1.949m in its second week across 418 screens and adding to a running total of $5m.

In its third week, Last Christmas earned $1.2m from 277 screens. After debuting to the top spot, the romantic comedy starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding has reached $6.47m in total earnings.

Debuting over the weekend was Chadwick Boseman-fronted police drama, 21 Bridges. The film earned $494,438 from 203 screens, surpassed by Charlie’s Angels in its second week on $993,214. The female-led action reboot of the 1970s TV show experienced a 41% drop on last week, showing across 345 screens. Its total earnings sit at $3.1m.
