Former Edelman exec Susan Redden Makatoa joins Morrow Sodali
Stakeholder engagement and ESG consulting firm Morrow Sodali has hired former Edelman executive Susan Redden Makatoa as managing director.
Redden Makatoa will start this month and lead a newly created corporate communications practice.
Morrow Sodali’s international CEO Christian Sealey said the agency has been looking for someone to head up the practice for a while, and Redden Makatoa is the perfect candidate.
“Susan’s experience in guiding clients through the challenges they face is a very rare commodity. She is also a skilled leader and people are incredibly loyal to her.
“We will be investing further to build a team around Susan which will then combine with our broader financial communications, transactions, shareholder engagement and ESG team of professionals.”
Redden Makatoa held the title of EVP, head of corporate APAC at Edelman Australia and was one of the 240 global staff made redundant in June. The move was understood to have shocked and saddened staff at the time, given her high standing.
Prior to Edelman, she held leadership roles at Ogilvy PR and SenateSHJ.
