Former Merkle MD launches Rebecca Tos Consulting

The former AUNZ managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network’s Merkle agency, Rebecca Tos, has launched her own consultancy practice.

Tos said her timing track record was “atrocious”, having bought a business during the global financial crisis and now opening another just before the full impacts of COVID-19 were realised.

Tos was previously at DAN for seven years

Tos stepped down from DAN at the end of last year – after seven years at Dentsu, and six months in the Merkle MD role.

Rebecca Tos Consulting, will offer virtual CEO, consulting, and leadership coaching services to a client roster that is currently focused on SMEs and micro-businesses.

“These unprecedented times that we’re all navigating are difficult and distressing, yet it’s inspiring innovation, creativity and bravery. Maybe even magic,” she told Mumbrella.

“We’re doing things differently, making mistakes and trying things we wouldn’t have dared before. Whilst a pandemic contingency was not in my business plan, discovering a new rhythm of what community, business and value exchange looks like was.

“Uncertainty is the new normal and yes, it’s daunting but being agile and ideating a new future is incredibly fulfilling”.

Potential clients could include a leader transitioning to a general manager, managing director or CEO role for the first time who’d like coaching, an SME requiring a virtual CEO, an enterprise client looking to review its marketing function, or a startup crafting its marketing positioning.

“Given the COVID-19 and economic situation, I’m also donating a portion of my time to help businesses in distress,” Tos added.

Tos was previously CEO of Columbus ANZ, one of Merkle’s local business units. While CEO of Columbus, Tos also served in a short term project role as DAN’s chief marketing officer.

Before joining the holding group, she had stints as GM of IPG Mediabrands, and at News Digital Media and Ninemsn.
