Former Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne GCD Leon Wilson joins and rebrands brand agency Red Robyn to Robyn&Leon
The former group creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne, Leon Wilson, has joined forces with the founder of branding agency Red Robyn, Robyn Brazenall, to create Robyn&Leon.
Red Robyn has been rebranded to Robyn&Leon with Wilson joining the new agency as a director.
Robyn&Leon will be centred around three key pillars – branding and design, advertising and brand purpose.
Founded by Robyn Brazenall in 2003, Red Robyn has worked with brands including 7 Eleven, IBM, Origin, Monash University, KPMG and Telstra.
Wilson, who came on board to reposition and rebrand Red Robyn in December, was the group creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi for nearly three years.
The creative director has also worked at CHE Proximity, BBDO, Publicis Mojo and Fallon.
“This three-pronged structure allows us to work with clients in the way that benefits them the most.
“Sometimes this may involve a consumer facing design solution or advertising campaign. Other times it may involve backing up a bit to establish what the actual purpose of the brand is and then communicating that internally to everybody in the company. Having a clear sense of purpose is the most important thing any individual can have, and with brands it’s the same.
“When an organisation understands its purpose and can communicate it in an inspirational way, they not only attract the best talent but tend to outperform their competitors as a result,” WIlson said in a statement.
Brazenall added: “One of the benefits of being an independent agency is that we’re able to stay completely true to who we are, so these principles have never changed.”
