FremantleMedia obtains Recipe to Riches

Production company FremantleMedia has secured the international rights to show Recipe to Riches

FremantleMedia have secured both the format and licensing rights from Canadian-based Temple Street Productions.

The cooking competition show sees home cooks battle to have their original recipe chosen to be sold nationwide in a supermarket chain.

The format will be rolled out internationally, including Australia.

Rob Clark, director, global entertainment development for FremantleMedia said: “Recipe to Riches is a ground-breaking programme. For the viewer, it’s the first truly interactive food show; in Idols, you can buy and enjoy the music, in Recipe to Riches, the viewer can eat the winning recipe. What could be more satisfying? Sight, sound, smell and taste, all in one TV show. We’re delighted to have acquired Recipe to Riches and we are very much looking forward to bringing local versions of the show to audiences around the world.”

David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, co-presidents of Temple Street Productions and EPs for Recipe to Riches, said: “Food is such a tactile and sensory experience. We wanted to produce a truly unique food show – where viewers would not be separated from making that connection with the dishes being prepared. We created a show that we could – for the first time ever – provide an outlet where people could taste the food being prepared on the show. We are especially excited that our format will be produced and sold internationally by FremantleMedia who are perfectly positioned to bring the culinary joy of our show to audiences the world over.”
