Future Brand promotes Nick Sykes to global CEO

IPG-owned Future Brand has promoted its international president, Nick Sykes, to global CEO, effective immeditately.

Sykes takes over from the incumbent Patrick Smith who has held the role for 11 years, and will continue with the company in an advisory role.

Nick Sykes has been promoted to global CEO of Future Brand

Sykes has been with the company for almost nine years, starting in 2010 as managing director and progressing to London CEO and EMEA president, then international president in 2017. Prior to Future Brand he was managing director at McCann Worldgroup in London.

Sykes said in a statement: “I am delighted to be taking on the leadership of Future Brand and building on the success of the last few years. We have an incredibly talented and diverse team based in many of the world’s most exciting cities and are well positioned to deliver our unique approach to brand building, innovation and creativity.”

Frank Mergenthaler, chairman of IPG’s Constituency Management Group, said that Sykes’ promotion was well deserved due to his contribution to the company.

“Nick has been a major contributor to our clients’ growth and success, and over the last nine years has helped shape how Future Brand goes to market. This promotion is thoroughly deserved – Nick has the right blend of experience to lead Future Brand to its next stage of evolution, growth and continued success,” Mergenthaler said.
