Gardening Australia’s 30th anniversary episode attracts 579,000 viewers

ABC’s Gardening Australia aired its 30th episode on Friday night which attracted 579,000 metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

The program was the most watched non-news program for the evening and managed to beat the second session of Seven’s Big Bash League Semi Final 2, which saw 548,000 viewers tune in.

Gardening Australia is hosted by Peter Cundall, Stephen Ryan and Costa Georgiadis

Meanwhile, 533,000 metro viewers watched the post game following Melbourne Renegades’s win against the Sydney Sixers.

ABC moved Gardening Australia’s time slot last year changing it from a 30-minute Saturday night format to a 60-minute format on Friday nights.

In the news battle for the evening Seven News managed 794,000 metro viewers, beating Nine News’ audience of 688,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s highest rating program for the evening was Ten News First, which attracted 345,000 metro viewers.

Seven won Friday’s TV ratings battle with an overall audience share of 22.9% ahead of Nine’s 17.4% share, ABC’s 14.8%, Ten’s 8.4% and SBS’s 4% share.
