Gavin Gibson returns to OMD as national chief strategy officer

Media agency OMD has appointed former OMD staffer Gavin Gibson as its new national chief strategy officer.

Gibson returns to OMD from his stint at 303MullenLowe where he was a managing partner for one year and nine months, prior to that he was the national head of strategy at OMD from 2013-2015.

Gibson said he is “thrilled to be back on the team”

Gibson said in a statement: “OMD Australia have been consistently successful over a long period of time with a reputation in market second to none. I’m thrilled to be back on the team and to help lead the business and our clients to further success.”

Peita Pacey has also returned to OMD as Sydney’s head of strategy.

Pacey moves across from Carat Australia where she was also head of strategy in Sydney for two and a half years.

“My previous time at OMD was some of my favourite in my career. With such a strong culture and future focused vision, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to return home and embark with Gav on new adventures,” Pacey said.

Gibson has already commenced his new role while Pacey starts on June 19.

In other appointments, Danni Dimitri has been promoted from account director to strategy director for McDonald’s, while Daisy Huang has been promoted from account manager to strategist.

OMD clients include Qantas, Apple, Telstra and McDonald’s.
