Genero boosts Australian team with creative strategist and client director appointments

Local start-up production platform Genero has boosted its Australian team with two new Sydney-based hires.

The company has hired former Red Bull UK head of content Christie Poulos as client director and Buzzfeed’s Daria Willis to become creative strategist with both responsible for Australia and New Zealand.

Christie Poulos joins Genero after stints with Red Bull and King Content

Along with Red Bull, Poulos has previously served with King Content where she was global creative services director working on clients including Bupa, AMP, LinkedIn and Lenovo.

Willis is the business’ first creative strategist having worked with creative and branding agencies including Leo Burnett Sydney and Proximity, TMW and WHAM (Hutchinson Whampoa) in London.

The two will work with MD Harry Preston in growing the Genero offering in Australia and New Zealand, which the company claims is disrupting the advertising industry by connecting brands with professional creators for creative ideation and end-to-end production services.

Preston said: “Our people are such an important dimension of Genero. The experience we bring across agency, creative, strategy and production combined with our talented creative network and innovative platform, really differentiates us from our competitors.

“That’s why I’m excited for Christie and Daria to join our already high calibre team, and to work with our clients to continue solving their content and creative challenges”.

Poulos added: “Content and video marketing is rapidly and continuously changing, and Genero is perfectly placed to provide brands with both fresh creative thinking and high-quality production, all wrapped up in a truly scaleable platform.

“It’s exciting to be providing this innovative solution to marketers by connecting them directly with amazing creators from all over the world.”

The Australian hires follow the recent launch of Genero’s New York and São Paulo offices, adding to its teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Singapore.
