Global Amazon Ads head to lead GroupM’s Aussie commerce and retail media business
GroupM has nabbed a big name to lead its commerce and retail media business in Australia and New Zealand.
Marc Lomas, who most recently spent seven years at Amazon Ads as its global head of performance for Amazon DSP out of New York and as head of agency sales in Australia, has been confirmed as GroupM’s new managing director for its commerce capability in which he will support EssenceMediaCom, Mindshare and Wavemaker.
Lomas has over 20 years’ experience in the industry working with blue-chip brands developing performance marketing and ad-tech capability in Australia, the UK and the US.
“Commerce is a massive growth area and key strategic area of focus for us. We are investing in building out this critical specialist capability to support our clients on their commerce ambitions and navigating the rapidly evolving landscape,” Aimee Buchanan, GroupM Australia and New Zealand CEO, said.

GroupM has confirmed that it will look to expand its commerce capability with the creation of new specialist roles under Lomas in due course.
