Gogglebox Australia’s season 16 launched to 450k metro viewers

The five-time TV Week Logie and AACTA award-winning show Goggle Box Australia’s season 16 launch on Ten aired to a metro audience of 450,000 on Thursday, while also winning key advertising demos, 16-39s, and 18-49s.

Gogglebox Australia dedicated the first episode of the season to Di Kershaw who sadly recently passed. Di was a much-loved Gogglebox family member who joined her husband of more than 50 years, Mick, on their couch each season and delivered countless memorable moments. Never afraid to speak her mind, Di had a huge impact on audiences and she and her unforgettable laugh will be deeply missed by all.

The program which won entertainment, however, was The Chase Australian on Seven which was viewed by a metro audience of 503,000. Nine won the night in the overall network share.

Next in entertainment was Hot Seat on Nine which pulled in 395,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven’s Home and Away which had 336,000 metro viewers.

Thursday’s NRL game saw 362,000 metro viewers tune in.

Overall, Seven News topped programming with 846,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News at 6:30 with 804,000 metro viewers. Seven News at 6:30 was next with 787,000 metro viewers, then Nine News with 759,000 metro viewers. A Current Affair brought in 608,000 metro viewers, followed by ABC News which brought in 567,000. ABC’s 7:30 followed with 422,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the overall share for the evening with 31.1%, followed by Seven with 25.7%. Next was Ten with a 19.2% share, and ABC finished with 15% of the total share.
