Gold Coast PR alumni launch new agency KK&O

PR professionals Ty Kudla, Rebbecca Kent and brand architect Kat Orchard have partnered to create communications agency KK&O, based on the Gold Coast.

The new agency’s services will include brand consulting, design, communications, marketing strategy and digital marketing.

Orchard was the co-founder of Pineapple PR, which was bought and merged into McCann’s The Red Republic in 2017. After moving to The Red Republic as an account director, Orchard met Kent. The pair both held account director roles until April 2019.

Kudla was previously an account director at 40/40 Creative, a role he held until March 2018. He is also the co-founder and president of the Southport Collective, an organisation dedicated to revitalising the Gold Coast area of Southport.

KK&O states that the agency was born out of data that one in five Gold Coast residents are working for themselves.

Kudla said in a statement: “The Gold Coast is absolutely pumping with energy and opportunity, and we want to be a part of that narrative. Agency is a less-risky solution for businesses who need experts in campaign delivery; it removes the painful process of finding the right candidate and the stress of the financial outlay that hiring internal staff brings.”

“There has definitely been a shift from small-business mentality to an entrepreneurial mindset, and the need for more full-service agencies offering complete creative solutions is crucial to the ongoing growth of business on the Gold Coast,” Kent added.

Orchard said: “Being amongst innovators and cultural shape shifters is inspiring. Working amongst people who are passionate and have good energy feeds our drive to collaborate with some of the Coasts thought leaders. There’s enough work to go around and we’re ready to give this all we’ve got.”
