Google’s small business support the focus in new campaign from Emotive

Google has released a new campaign via independent creative agency, Emotive to highlight its support for small Australian businesses over the last year.

The tech platform said that over the past year, it has assisted 1.3 million small businesses across the country to connect with customers, digitise and grow.

The campaign centres on three small business employees, Henry from Tom’s Outdoors, Enrico from Drinks and Bek from Buone Notti Backyard Glamping, and “shows how they have each benefitted in their own careers and through the pandemic, thanks to the businesses they work for growing online”.

“The challenges the past 18 months have brought to Australian small businesses, and the people they employ, have been immense,” said Richard Flanagan, director of business and brand marketing at Google Australia. “We’re really proud to bring this work to life at a time when Australia is reopening.”

“Work that heroes the stories of three Australians who have each been positively impacted by the fact the business they work for grew with a bit of help from Google’s products and tools.”

Creative director at Emotive, Rupert Taylor said: “Business-centric campaigns usually tell the story of the founder, how they overcame adversity, grew the business, and now they’re successful, so it was great to tell the stories of the people who work for the businesses, featuring real people, and how growth has been good for their lives too.”

The campaign launched today, running across digital, print and out of home channels.

Emotive and Google first worked together in 2019, with the agency using 12 months of search data surrounding the AFL to create a campaign film that collated some of the most emotional and controversial moments from the 2019 season.

Last week, Dr Mumbo reported on a short video, created by Emotive and Trinity P3, providing the dummies guide to video conference ad agency pitching.
