Grant Broadcasters secures eight new FM signals across SA

Grant Broadcasters is revamping its network of radio stations in South Australia, announcing that it will launch eight FM signals for four stations across the state.

‘Adult Hit’ format stations 5MU Murray Bridge, 5AU Spencer Gulf, 5RM Riverland & 5CC Port Lincoln will now be heard on the FM band.

The change will see 5MU 1125AM and 5AU 1242AM cease transmission on those AM frequencies entirely, while 5RM on 801AM and 5CC on 756AM will continue to be heard on both FM and AM.

There will be no change to the frequency for 5CS Eyre Peninsula, which will remain on the AM band only for now on 1045AM.

Grant Broadcasters’ updated SA frequencies

Grant Broadcasters CEO Alison Cameron said the launch of the new frequencies came after years of planning.

“We are thrilled to finally launch these FM signals for our brands across South Australia after years of planning and execution. It will be fantastic for the audience to hear our stations in crystal clear FM quality.

“This coupled with our increasing focus on live and local programming is great news for our audiences and advertisers,” she said.

Grant Broadcasters regional GM for Victoria & South Australia, Peter Upton, lauded the radio network’s engineering team.

“Our engineering team has done a fantastic job getting all of this new infrastructure in place and ready to go. A couple of our translators, Waikerie and Mount Neild are still in development stages, but should be on air in the very near future.

“Both of these markets will continue to receive the AM signal to ensure coverage. Additionally, 5CS listeners will continue to receive their local information and music on AM.”

South Australia content operations manager, Glenn Baker added: “We’re extremely pleased to be launching the new FM signals for our ‘Adult Hits’ stations. We believe the upgrades will increase audience share across all markets, which will assist our brands being able to continue delivering strong results for our valued clients.

The announcement comes shortly after Grant Broadcasters revealed the launch of several new local shows including statewide SA Drive show ‘Around SA’, and rural show ‘Primary Focus.’

‘The Sideline View’, a new sports show, will also go live across SA every Saturday from 20 February.
