Greenpeace chief moves to Republic of Everyone

The communications chief at Greenpeace has moved to Republic of Everyone, an agency the green group works with.

Dae Levine, head of communications and recently acting CEO at Greenpeace, will take on a new role at the sustainability specialist running its government, NGO and political business.

Her role will involve working with clients in Australia and the US, Levine’s country of origin.

“Republic of Everyone is not your typical ad agency,” Levine said. “They use the power of strategic communications to support the kind of movement-building Australia – and the world – really needs.”

Greenpeace and Republic of Everyone were behind the recent Say Yes Australia campaign to back the carbon tax.

Levine’s departure has coincided with a restructure within Greenpeace’s communications team. Media and communications manager James Lorenz will take on the top comms role.

Matt Perry Partner at Republic of Everyone said, “We have been working closely with Dae for nearly three years in her role at Greenpeace and have been consistently impressed by her smart thinking, deep knowledge and great sense of humour.”

“Her track record speaks for itself as one of the key architects of the Say Yes Australia campaign and in the development of her own business in the US where she worked with some of the key decision makers in American
politics.”

In Levine’s career to date, she ran her own political and NGO consulting business called Dae Levine Group, working with clients including EMILY’s List, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Human Rights First.

Levine is due to start work at Republic in early 2012.
