Griffith University names its new agency roster

Griffith University has moved its creative and media accounts following an open tender process, Mumbrella can reveal.

The Queensland-based university’s creative account has landed with independent, BCM Group, while GroupM’s Wavemaker has been charged with media duties.

BCM Group managing director Phil McDonald confirmed the appointment to Mumbrella.

“It’s a fantastic brand for us to be working on, on the back of having worked in the category for a long period of time,” he said. “The Griffith brand has some real power about it, and it’s an exciting opportunity to work with them.”

The appointment sees the media account remain within the GroupM stable, moving across from incumbent EssenceMediacom. GroupM declined to comment on the shift.

The incumbent on the creative account is Publicis Worldwide.

Mumbrella understands that the tender was contested by most creative and media agencies with a presence in the Brisbane market.

Griffith University confirmed the appointment but declined to comment further.
