Gruen Transfer returns with 1.1m audience
The return of The Gruen Transfer to ABC1 last night saw it rate a healthy 1.072m according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.
The show focused on the aggressive marketing war between Coles and Woolworths, and the carbon tax.
Masterchef, on Ten, was the top program of the night, with 1.671m, while Nine’s The Block did 1.232m for Nine.
The Renovators struggled for Ten with 784,000, 13th for the night. But in the same genre, Top Design with Jamie Durie fared even worse for Nine, delivering just 590,000.

Good to have the Gruen back on air, but It’s sometimes like watch marketing amateur hour. Tod Samson needs a lesson on brand and engagement strategy. At least Russell has some idea, but seriously the arguments give marketing a bad name. But still a great show and I don’t miss it.
