Tourism PR and marketing organisation GTI has announced the appointment of Jenny Pham as general manager – marketing and strategy, as well as winning Japan National Tourism Organisation as a client.

The announcement:

Tourism PR and marketing organisation GTI, has announced the appointment of long-time media executive, Jenny Pham as general manager – marketing and strategy, effective immediately.

Jenny leads the agency’s marketing division with responsibility for strategy, media and consumer marketing, while founder and managing director Sarah Anderson remains as the day-to-day lead of the PR division.

GTI also announces it’s been appointed following a competitive pitch by Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) to deliver social media and website content creation for the organisation within the Australian market.

GTI founder and managing director Sarah Anderson says Jenny’s appointment adds new capability to the agency.

“After years of delivering award-winning integrated content-led campaigns, we are very happy to now offer GTI clients very senior level expertise across digital and media,” Sarah said.

“Jenny’s skills are a great complement to the agency’s existing offering and while many tourism clients are facing the challenge of closed international borders, these market conditions present a great opportunity for innovation.

“Destinations and tourism brands are changing how they engage with consumers and GTI has shown over the past five years that it really pays to lead with integrated strategy across all marketing channels and we are happy to boost our capability in the digital media space with Jenny’s appointment.”

Jenny has more than 15 years’ media agency experience, working at a range of agencies in Sydney and Melbourne, leading teams and working across travel clients including Tigerair, InterContinental Hotel Group and Hong Kong Tourism Board as well as global brands Unilever, Kimberly Clark, GE Money, Michelin Tyres, Universal Pictures, LG Electronics and local brands, Myer, MLC and Aussie Home Loans.

Most recently, Jenny was vice president at media agency Essence. During her time at Essence, Jenny was chosen to lead the agency’s Melbourne office and successfully transitioned her team across in early 2018.

In her new role, Jenny will be leading GTI’s Sydney office and she is currently working closely with Vanuatu Tourism Office and Japan National Tourism Organization to prepare consumers to be ready to book when travel bubbles or open international borders allow Australians to travel safely again.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining GTI and am very much looking forward to sharing my expertise with the team as we build on past achievements and navigate the travel and media industry after the challenges of 2020,” said Jenny.

“There is a huge opportunity in the travel space right now as we see travel bubbles open up and consumers gain more confidence in travelling again.

“I’m very grateful to be helping to ready Australians for the comeback of international travel.”
