Habitat for Humanity launches fundraising game
Habitat for Humanity, a charity that provides homes for low-income families, has become the latest organisation to turn to gaming to engage consumers.
In the game, which can be accessed via Facebook, a player must build homes for those in need, and donate to the charity as they build them.
Players are given a number of free credits with which they can buy a plot of land and start building a house. They then have the option to buy additional credits to personalise their house.
The game, called Habitatland, is sponsored by real estate website Domain.com.au, which is matching each dollar spent on the game with a donation to the charity.
The game, which the charity claims is an Australian first, was developed by Reborn.
