Hard Quiz a win for ABC, Seven takes Wednesday, 2022 FIFA semi-final game tops demos

A repeat episode Hard Quiz on ABC topped entertainment on Wednesday, however, it was the Seven network that celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 460,000 metro viewers, while the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final between Croatia and Argentina took out key advertising demos, 16-39, and 18-49s, while Seven News at 6:30 topped 25-54s.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for Wednesday 7 December, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across total TV, with 1.248 million viewers, including 30,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. Love Island Australia had the biggest uplift of the week at 526%, while viewed by a total audience of 382,000, and 273,000 on BVOD.

Looking back at Wednesday’s overnights, The Chase Australia on Seven was next, which aired to an average metro audience of 405,000, followed by Hot Seat on Nine, which aired to an average of 322,000.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup match between Croatia and Argentina aired to a metro audience of 324,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News won overall TV viewing on Wednesday night with 753,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 706,000 metro viewers, while Nine News had 654,000 metro viewers. Seven News at 6:30 brought in 628,000. ABC News pulled in 569,000 viewers, and A Current Affair pulled in 540,000 metro views.

As mentioned, Seven won the night, taking an overall network share of 28% just pipping Nine’s 26.4%, while the ABC had a share of 21.4%, and Ten had a share of 16.1%.

Seven also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Wednesday was 7TWO with a share of 4.2%.
