Hardie Grant Media to absorb Slattery Media Group

Independent content and publishing agency Hardie Grant Media will be taking on Slattery Media Group’s content and publishing list at the end of this month.

Hardie Grant’s book publishing division will also sell and distribute Slattery Media Group’s book list and publish all current and future projects.

Hardie Grant Media will now look after all aspects of Slattery Media Group

The Slattery Media Group was founded by Geoff Slattery in 1995 and has held clients including Racing Victoria, Victoria Racing Club, AFL, Queen Victoria Market and Telstra. The Group focuses on custom publishing and design for sport, custom and trade publications. All of these functions will continue under Hardie Grant Media.

Nick Hardie-Grant, managing director of Hardie Grant Media said: “We’re looking forward to having Slattery Media Group join our team. Geoff runs a great business and we’ve kept a close eye on his work over the years – well before my time here.

“When the opportunity arose to continue doing what SMG does well while letting Geoff step back from the day to day, it all felt very natural. They have some great clients who we’re excited to continue working with.”

Hardie Grant’s publications include Virgin Australia Magazine. The business also owns a number of other assets, including Tide PR.

Geoff Slattery, CEO of Slattery Media, said: “This is a great opportunity for me personally, for our authors, and our clients to become part of a large organisation with a great track record in publishing.

“I had a terrific relationship with Sandy Grant and Fiona Hardie when Text Media began in the early 90s – before Hardie Grant began! It’s great to team up again with the family.”

The SMG team relocated to the Hardie Grant office in Richmond in mid-October.
