Havas Group reports ‘strong recovery’ from 2020 figures

French company Vivendi has published its Q3 2021 financial results, within it the reporting of Havas Group’s financial results.

Havas Group has reported growth of 17.8% in the quarter, as “business activities continued to experience a very strong recovery compared to the same period in 2020, outpacing the second quarter of 2021.”

The carries on from Q2 growth of 15.8%. For the first nine months of the year, Havas Group revenues totalled €1.69 billion (A$2.63 billion), which is up 11.6% when compared to the first nine months of 2020.

Net revenue across this period is €1.57 billion (A$2.44 billion), which is a 8.2% rise, on the same period in 2020 also. Total net revenue for the quarter was €561 million (A$872.63 million), with the Asia Pacific and Africa region contributing €45 million (A$70 million).

This breaks down as organic growth of 10.8%, acquisitions contributing 1.3% and an unfavorable foreign exchange rate contributing -3.9%.

This included acquiring majority stakes in  Agence Verte (a France-based agency specialising in CSR communications) and Nohup (an Italian digital transformation agency), as part of its “targeted acquisitons policy”.

Organic growth by quarter

The company said: “Havas Group is approaching the end of 2021 with confidence, thanks to a sustained level of business activity, with many new business wins, including Unilever (Media division, for France and Spain), SNCF (Creative) and a significant additional budget in Health communications.”

Havas Group’s net revenues for the third quarter of 2021 grew organically by 17.8% (a favorable baseline compared to the third quarter of 2020, which was affected by the health crisis), following growth of  15.8% in the second quarter of 2021.
