Havas Melbourne appoints Naomi Johnston and Tim Higginson as general managers

Havas Melbourne has appointed two new general managers across its media and creative teams.

Naomi Johnston has joined from Jumbla Animation Studios to head up Havas Melbourne’s media team. On the creative team is Tim Higginson, who has joined from McKenzie Partners.

Johnson has previously been general manager of Starcom and head of client communication planning at Mediacom. At Jumbla Animation Studios she was group general manager for Australia and the UK.

She said of her appointment: “The Havas Village model is unique. I’m thrilled to be helping create compelling media experiences in an environment that truly appreciates how media and creative need to work in harmony.”

Higginson was general manager at McKenzie Partners, and prior to that he was group account director at BCM Partnership.

He added: “There’s a real sense of purpose and energy in the leadership team at Havas and this really caught my attention along with Havas’ belief in building meaningful brands. I’m thrilled to join the team and work with Matt again to deliver on that promise.”

The pair will report to Havas Melbourne and Havas Media Group AUNZ CEO, Matt Houltham.

Houltham said: “The comms landscape has never been more complex or fragmented. Our challenge is to help brands add value instead of just contributing to the noise. Naomi and Tim both bring a deep understanding of how media and creative can combine to drive results. But critically, they are also great collaborators and fun to work with, so I’m excited about what they’ll bring strategically and culturally to the team and our client work.”

Houltham took on the Havas Media AUNZ CEO role in November last year, following Mike Wilson’s move to chairman.
