Havas taps Google Cardboard to bring virtual reality to Steve Waugh’s Captain’s Ride
Cyclists in Fitness First gyms have been able to join former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh on his Captain’s Ride for children with rare diseases thanks to a virtual reality experience created by Havas agencies.
Waugh and a team of supporters are in the middle of a 920km charity ride from Sydney to Byron Bay to support The Steve Waugh Foundation.
As part of an awareness drive Havas filmed the first leg of the journey with 360 degree cameras including the new 360 Fly rig which can be streamed to Google Cardboard VR devices given to Fitness First members riding on stationary bikes in its gyms.

Fantastic!
It’s a great idea but the video is sh!t. Fix it up and make it more emotive, then you’re onto a hot streak.
… or not blow funds needed for the kids on a high-budget production and simply get the message out there on social media.
