Ten’s current affairs-based quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? will return on May 13 for its seventh season.

Have You Been Paying Attention? was first commissioned by Ten in October 2013 and ran at 7pm on a Sunday as a half-hour format. The show was far from an instant success, premiering to just 301,000 viewers. It was moved to 6pm where it dropped further to 235,000.

The second season saw the show bring in just 168,000 viewers, until it was moved to a 9:30pm timeslot and expanded to an hour format. The show began to pick up traction, and was moved once more to 8:30pm where it began to reach around 500,000 viewers a night.

Last year’s premiere episode brought in 808,000 viewers, landing just behind Masterchef and topping the three advertising key demographics – 16 – 39, 18 – 49 and 25 – 54.

Across the season the show continued to pull in between 700,000 and 800,000 viewers. In October it was announced Working Dog Productions, had signed with CBS Studios International for worldwide format rights.

Working Dog Productions was formed in 1993 by Gleisner alongside actors Santo Cilauro, Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy and producer Michael Hirsh. The company had produced shows for Ten prior to Have You Been Paying Attention?, including Thank God You’re Here which also starred Gleisner. It’s also produced iconic Australian movies such as The Castle.

Have You Been Paying Attention? will return on Monday 13 May at 8:30pm on 10 and WIN Network.
