Hayu partners with love.fish for the launch of Below Deck Down Under

Hayu has partnered with love.fish to launch the Below Deck Down Under series, the latest spin-off from the franchise, Below Deck.

The announcement:

hayu, the home of the Below Deck franchise, has turned the iconic beachside treat of fish and chips into a luxury ‘down under’ experience for Sydneysiders, to mark the launch of the brand new Below Deck Down Under series, streaming exclusively on the platform from tomorrow (March 18).

To create the dish, hayu has partnered with love.fish – the Australian waterfront venue that is best known for its sustainably sourced Australian seafood. The luxury dish has been carefully curated by their Head Chef and owner Michael Milkovic and includes: Glacier 51 Patagonian Toothfish and Eastern Rock Lobster in Belvedere Single Grain Vodka Crisp Batter and a side of Thorpdale Sebago Chips with Black Spanish Winter Truffles, topped with Hadid Royal Oscietra Caviar (launched by Gigi and Bella Hadid’s father, Mohamed Hadid), dusted in Giusto Manetti Gold Leaf and served with a side of Cristal champagne dipping sauce.

Ashleigh Grier, hayu Marketing Director, Asia Pacific at NBCUniversal says, “Below Deck is fast becoming one of Australia’s favourite reality franchises and we are thrilled to be launching the Down Under spin-off exclusively on hayu in Australia. We wanted to launch the series in a way that encapsulates the show – luxurious, fun and a little bit cheeky – by teaming up with love.fish to deliver our Below Deck fans the opportunity to experience an extra fancy take on a humble classic. After all, why should only charter guests get to enjoy the highlife?”

Michael Milkovic, Head Chef at love.fish says, “We are always looking for new ways to bring creativity and uniqueness to our dishes. When hayu suggested recreating a classic dish with a luxury twist we, of course, said yes. We’ve sourced extravagant ingredients from across the world to create this masterpiece, including caviar from Dubai, truffles from Spain, gold leaf from Florence and toothfish and lobster from here in Australia, and aim to give our Sydney-side foodies a taste at the 5-star charter guest life.”

Below Deck Down Under is set against the stunning backdrop of the tropical Whitsunday Islands and world-famous Great Barrier Reef in QLD, Australia. The series explores the complex, often explosive dynamics of the crew and a rotating group of demanding charter guests.

This season features Australian cast members Captain Jason Chambers, bosun Jamie Sayed and deckhand Ben Crawley. They are joined by a familiar face, fan-favourite NZ-raised Aesha Scott as Chief Stew, along with chef Ryan McKeown, stews Tumi Mhlongo and Magda Ziomek, and deckhands Culver Bradbury and Brittini Burton.
