Hearts & Science promotes Luke Hutchinson to chief investment officer

Hearts & Science, Omnicom Media Group’s newest media agency, has promoted Luke Hutchinson to chief investment officer.

Hutchinson joined Omnicom two and a half years ago as head of trading at M2M, which became Hearts & Science upon the new agency’s launch. In his new role, he will be based in Sydney but responsible for investment nationally.

Hutchinson joined the OMG network in January 2017

“Luke is one of the best in the business and I am thrilled to announce this well-deserved promotion. Luke’s integrity and his pragmatic approach to both client and publisher all the while retaining a strong focus on value and results, as opposed to just pricing is unmatched,” said CEO Jeremy Bolt, to whom Hutchinson will report.

Hutchinson will also work closely with Sydney managing director Wendy Gower and Melbourne managing director Richard Smith.

“Hearts & Science has experienced rapid global growth since its US launch three years ago and has developed a highly compelling proposition that is resonating with both clients and staff. It’s not every day you launch a new agency brand, particularly one as compelling as Hearts,” Hutchinson said of his new role.

“We launched officially in April and I am thrilled to be moving into this national role. My remit will be to work closely with our clients and media partners, as well as our talented leadership team, to evolve our audience first, data led investment approach to focus on both business outcomes and value. This will require a fresh approach and new processes and I welcome the challenge.

“I look forward to collaborating alongside Jeremy and the team and establishing Hearts successfully in Australia.”

Last month, the agency appointed Jonathan Betts as chief experience officer, and this year has also named Isabelle Dunn as digital lead and Anna March as Sydney business director.
