Hit Network’s Hamish and Andy air last show tonight

One of Australian radio’s most successful broadcasting duos, Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, will air their last national Hit Network radio program tonight from 4pm to 6pm.

In December last year the pair announced they would be ending their radio show to focus on their television careers.

Before finishing up on air with Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network, Hamish and Andy agreed to do eight more months on air.

The pair are set to do a send off show in Melbourne tonight.

In October, Hit Network announced a replacement for the longstanding radio duo revealing Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Kate Langbroek, along with 3pm pick-up hosts Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little would be joining forces to form an extended drive time offering.

At the time of the announcement, Grant Blackley, CEO of Southern Cross Austereo said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Hughesy and Kate to the SCA family. Both are consummate professionals and wonderful entertainers and will be a great addition to the Hit Network’s already strong national Drive line-up with Carrie and Tommy.”

In July, Hamish and Andy were crowned the most popular drive program in Melbourne as the pair overtook popular talk back radio station 3AW.

However, the pair dropped 2.6 points to a 10.3% share the following radio ratings survey as Hamish Blake took paternity leave resulting in the pair taking a for week break from the radio show.

The most recent radio ratings survey saw Hamish and Andy come out on top as the most popular drive program despite falling from a share of 10.7% to 10.5%.
