Holden adopts ambassadors with new CARstodians campaign
Holden has moved in a new direction with its marketing, recruiting five high profile ambassadors to promotional roles it has dubbed “CARstodians”.
Actors Claudia Karvan and Matthew Le Nevez, chef Luke Nguyen, surfer Nikki Van Dijk and fashion entrepreneur Jane Lu are fronting the campaign which initially promotes low interest rates on Holdens.
The move is part of the auto maker’s push to become, in its own words, “the most customer-centric automotive brand in Australia”.
Holden’s executive director of marketing, Geraldine Davys, said the brand wanted to tap into the perosnalities who had made their own mark on the world.
“They capture the very essence of today’s Australia – real, clever and bold Australians making their mark here and on the world stage,” Davys said.
“Initiatives such as the biggest Lifetime Capped Price Servicing program in the country, for every Holden ever built, are proof of the laser-like focus we are putting on the customer. And we have been at the forefront of introducing smart new technology, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, that our customers just love.”
The campaign by AJF Partnership, will utilise the ambassadors in different ways through advertising and promotions.

But the point is moot, is it not? You can have all the clever, innovative, bold, wonderful people in Australia talking about the new Holden…..But Holden is not longer producing ANYTHING in Australia. All the clever, innovative, bold etc workers, designers, engineers and brains, from Australia, have either left Holden, or will be leaving next year… All “Holden” will be, is a badge stuck on any car made anywhere but Australia, and will mean nothing,…regardless of the New Image….They are no longer “Australian”. BTW Holden is probably THE oldest Automotive company in the World, started in 1856 in Adelaide…way before Benz.

Davis,
I’d suggest you do a little research. Holden is shutting down manufacturing, however GM Australia Design (formerly Holden Design) is busier than ever, and shaping huge amounts of global GM product including Holden’s future imported line-up. Not only that, the Lang Lang proving ground remains which enables Holden’s engineers to hone the future line-up specifically for Australian conditions. Make no mistake future Holden models will be much more than badge engineered vehicles and there are plenty of exciting vehicles coming to our shores.

Future imported line ups.. says it all. They took the subsidies and left. Enjoy standing up for GM products and their exploitation of a twisted Australian loyalty to 2 US car brands.
